Gorah Elephant Camp South Africa
Eastern Cape
Colonial nostalgia merged with modern sophistication

For the ultimate vintage safari experience, there's Gorah Elephant Camp. Set in the middle of the Addo Elephant National park (famous for having the world's most dense elephant population), this is the embodiment of romance and refinement... a true colonial style adventure. Something I'm reminded of whilst eating a light lunch in the shade of the stately lodge's verandah: a spot that overlooks an actual watering hole, complete with hot and thirsty wildlife!

The quaint library, two intimate lounges, and two dining rooms with their incredible views over the Savannah plains, add to the vintage elegance but after a long day's game drive, I can't resist the boma with its pool and sun deck. Set under a thatched canopy, my five star tented suite (one of eleven) has a private en suite, lounge area and wooden deck with mind-blowing views across the bushveld. Out of Africa eat your heart out!
