Mkhaya Stone Camp South Africa
Return to nature

I love Swaziland with its unspoilt wilderness that serves as a sanctuary for some of the African continents most endangered species. And for bush fanatics who want to fully appreciate all that nature has to offer, you couldn't do better than making Stone Camp your temporary home. The camp comprises twelve units, each totally private, and made of dolerite rocks, hence the name Stone Camp.

The area is sub-tropical and laid out along the banks of a dry riverbed. My particular unit may have been private, but was also open to the external bush, making this a gloriously unique bush experience. There is no electricity, only paraffin lamps, but this only adds to the charm and excitement of the place. Activities are plentiful: walking safaris, mountain bike safaris, and for the slightly less adventurous, game viewing by Land Rover. All in all, a truly unforgettable experience, and one I highly recommend!
